The CAT Model CAT/55-GCS-3-CDH is a family of units. The basic unit consists of a generator unit with one or two cooling units. These units are supplied with standard ackerman steering running gear, (MIL-SPEC) or skid mounted for fixed installations.

All versions are equipped with fork lift slots. The units can be powered by the included generator or connected to ground power (3 phase, 480VAC, 60Hz). Other power systems are available. The units are flight line towable. The optional caster mounted unit is specially designed to be carried in a C-135 aircraft and will fit through the side cargo door. All versions can be carried in any cargo aircraft.

Units will operate up to 140 °F ambient.

Each cooling unit can provide cooling or heated air between 40 °F & 120 °F. The unit has three operating modes (cooling, dehumidification, & heating). The system is controlled by a micro processor and is fully automatic after starting. Temperature and flow are fully adjustable.

Unit can also be operated by a PC which also displays all operating information and provides diagnostics information.

* Based on cooling 200 lbs/min of Ambient Air (105 °F with 59% HR) to 40 °F Saturated

** Based on cooling 425 lbs/min of Ambient Air (120 °F with 3% HR) to 40 °F Saturated

NOTE: How much mass airflow do I need to cool 90 KW?

Temperature °F KW Multiplier BTUs/hr
What is my cooling Load? Say 90 3,412.414 307,117 N/A
Max aircraft equipment Temp.(Return Air) Say 90 N/A N/A N/A
Select (Supply Air) Between 40 & 65 Say 40 N/A N/A N/A

Formula: Cooling Load / (Return Air Temp-Supply Air Temp) X 60(minutes) X.241(Sp Ht of Air)

Example: 307,117/((90-40)*60*.241)= 425 Lbs/Min Mass Air Flow
